Who benefits from our charity?
Everybody!
Parents have the confidence and ability to cope in stressful situations.
Children are happier and lead the life they deserve.
Volunteers gain new skills, training, other volunteering opportunities and employment.
Why do we need funding?
The charity has in recent years expanded as the support provided by local authorities has reduced along with the funding we received by County and Local Councils. Also the growing demand on applications to trusts and funders is making it more difficult to obtain vital funds.
Our main referrals for family support are from Social Services, Health Visitors and Early Help.
The cost of supporting family through the charity are considerably less than cost of Social Services support and the aim of the charity is to provide support to prevent issues escalating which not only is a social issue for the family concerned but a considerable economic cost to the local economy, to Social Services and the Health Services.
How much does it cost?
£1500 per volunteer per year
- To recruit, interview, train, support and match with appropriate family that have been assessed and are then supervised every 6-8 weeks. This is complex and a highly skilled operation and costs money.
